I get a text at midnight on Saturday, 10/8, from my sister saying there were at the hospital again because her blood pressure was really high. She had been having high blood pressure for a while and was being monitored for that reason. I was awake so I asked her to keep me posted. She told me not to wait up because they thought she would probably just get sent home again. I stayed awake as long as I could and then dozed off for a bit. At 3:50am, my sister texted me that the baby is coming!! They were going to do a c-section because of preeclampsia. I was SO EXCITED! My sister's c-section wasn't scheduled until the 26th and I was so excited we didn't have to wait almost 3 weeks more to see my new niece! We had pretty much already been waiting 2+ years for this moment!
She said my Mom was heading over so there was no way I was going to wait at home! I woke Dave up to tell him the baby was coming and I was heading to the hospital.
I got to the hospital and waited in the waiting room until my Mom came out from their labor & delivery room. When she came out, I went in to see them before they went into the operating room. I'm glad I did because I was able to get a pic of them dressed for surgery, just like Kari did when I had Dominic!
After getting a couple of pics and giving my sis a kiss & hug good luck, they came in to say that would be taking them back soon so I went to the waiting room to wait with Mom.
We waited for what felt like FOREVER!!! Dave had class in the morning so luckily my Auntie Marilyn was able to go to the house to sit with the kids while I continued to wait for the baby's arrival.
Finally at 6:23am (even thought it felt so long it could have been 6:23pm!) Olivia made her arrival at a whopping 5 pounds 11 ounces and 19 inches!
We couldn't be happier that Olivia is finally here and we just can't get enough of her!
Proud Bachan & Jichan
Emma is such a proud big sister and whenever she's at the hospital, all she wants to do is hold her little sister.
She had me scoot the chair over so that she was RIGHT next to Mama!
I hung out with Kari while Ray ran home to get some stuff together since Olivia arrived almost 3 weeks early! While I was there, Kari got moved from her recovery room to her Mother/Baby room. We piled all her stuff on her bed and rolled her over. I just had to take a pic because there was so much stuff piled around her! It made me laugh
They don't allow kids into Mother/Baby unless they are siblings of the newborn. My kids have been ANXIOUSLY awaiting the arrival of their new cousin and when they found out she was here, they could not wait to go see her!! So Dave & I snuck the kids in on Sunday. They were SO EXCITED to meet Olivia! They were so excited to finally hold her and give her kisses. They love her so much!!
Uncle finally gets his turn
I stayed the night with Kari Sunday night so that Ray could stay home with Emma and get her off to school on Monday. I just loved having that time with my new niece! Since she was so tiny we had to finger feed her so I would get up with her in the night and have my little bonding time with her. :) She is absolutely precious!
It was such an awesome weekend and we just can't wait to see her grow and boss around her older sis & cousins! :) Welcome to the world, precious baby Olivia.
